"Scottish Summer" is a dark ambient/industrial/drone album of processed microcassette field recordings and on-site synth performances from a summer trip to the Cotswolds, Scottish Highlands and Yorkshire Dales.

The initial sounds were created with either a combined setup of Korg Monotron, Korg Monotron Delay, Tubbutec Wired Heart and Bastl Microgranny recorded to a Sanyo Microcassette dictaphone, or just captured with the dictaphone as a field recorder, sound sources ranging from Cotswolds cows, car radio tuning, windy hills, Scottish train stations, an unhappy dog and squeaky leather boots. These were then recorded from the dictaphone speaker into the laptop mic and processed with Logic, before going through the Bastl Microgranny and being further processed with an analogue mixing desk and guitar pedals.

“Edinburgh Trains” features an additional drum track of Yamaha RY10 drum machine samples processed and performed live with the Roland SPD-SX SE, recycled from an earlier project.
